01 — Character

First, the bird had to exist on paper.

Before a single frame moved, the toucan was drawn again and again. Many pencil studies searched for the tilt of the head, the weight of that improbable beak, and the sadness a bird can carry while sitting perfectly still.

“It started with a scream — a bird crying out from a cage in the middle of a shopping mall.”

02 — The Crossing

Then came the ship that took him away.

The vessel that carries the toucan from the jungle went through dozens of silhouettes. Ocean liners, cargo hulls, and fishing boats were all explored.

03 — Home

Memories of home

Jungle studies drawn loose and fast: dense canopy versus open sky.

04 — Styleframes

From graphite to the finished jungle.

Drag across each frame to move between the hand-drawn foundation and the final color treatment. The composition stays fixed while line, depth, and atmosphere come into view.
